Last week on April 20 one of the most important social holidays was celebrated – National Blood Donor Day. This Day is primarily dedicated to the donors themselves – people who donate their blood for the health and lives of complete strangers. This Day is also dedicated to doctors who draw blood, monitor the sanitary conditions of blood transfusion stations, develop methods and equipment, and thoroughly examine the given drugs.
The DSMU Volunteer Centre is the initiator and organizer of the donor action of the students and employees of the University.
The aim of the action is not only to replenish the stock of donated blood at the station, but also to draw the attention of the people of Dagestan to the topic of donated blood, thus contributing to the development of the donor movement.
Before blood is donated, each potential donor is given a free medical examination, which includes an examination by a therapist and a preliminary laboratory examination.
The Volunteer Center thanks the donors for their conscientious and courageous gesture, for giving the patients hope of recovery.
